The One Secret to Winning Most Cases

“If you tell thetruth, you don’t have to remember anything.”  Mark Twain in 1894   For the past 36 years, I haveused this quote when I’ve been preparing clients for depositions, getting themready for trial, or meeting them for the first time to discuss their case.   Today it’s still great advicebecause it holds the one secret you need to know to win most cases.  Most people are honest and want to tell thetruth.  But sometimes in the course oflitigation, they think they have to “exaggerate” or maybe even lie in order toprove or enhance their case.   Nothing could be further from thetruth.  And Mark Twain’s words over 100years ago are just as true today.
